June 2024 was an eventful month for tax developments. Final Regulations have been issued on statutory limitations on losses from conservation easements as well as crypto currencies. However, the U.S. Supreme Court narrowed the discretion of the IRS and other agencies in their drafting of rules. The Supreme Court also upheld the Repatriation tax on U.S. shareholders and gave the IRS a victory on key person life insurance paid to a business.
